Soundtrack to my life...

So earlier today I had a song stuck in my head. For probably an hour or two, I couldn't think of another tune. Now, hours later and lying in bed, I can't for the life of me think what the song was. I did manage to remember that it was one of the songs I'd put into a list entitled "Phil's Phavourites".

Contrary to my dad's thoughts on much of the various types of music I've loved over my short (though growing annoyingly longer) life, and also contrary to possible previous statements I've made in the past regarding HIS music preferences... I think that my dad (the aforementioned Phil... of Phil's Phavourites fame...) has introduced me to a great deal of music that I will have a hard time forgetting, even as I slip into the dementia which I'm almost certain I'll slip into the dementia which I'm almost certain I'll slip into the dementia which I'm almost certain I'll... and so on...

So I lay here in bed, trying to remember the song which had me looking back in fondness at some amalgam memory of a loooooooong drive to sunny Queensland for an annual holiday with mum and dad.

Blank.

But the memory of the drive itself, sends one such musical gem bristling to the very front of my brain like a hysterical pubescent Beatles fan at the barrier outside their hotel. If I was to substitute the band name "the Beatles" for the band name "Tee Set", it's likely no-one reading this would understand the reference. There was no "Tee Set Mania" to speak of as far as I'm aware. Nor were there hordes of teenage groupie-wannabes slavering their various juices all over vocalist Peter Tetteroo.

In writing and subsequently reading that name I'm realising that just by having the name "Peter Tetteroo" he was at a certain poon-disadvantage... Never the less, they did write one of the most beautiful pop songs of the late 60's and a song that will always remind me of a certain time in my young life.

So thanks dad, for drilling this virtually mindless song into my young, developing ears and mind. And thanks Peter Tetteroo, for your ridiculous name and your pretty song.

And without further ado, I present to you the first installment of "Phil's Phavourites":

Tee Set - Ma Belle Amie
